Why there's no money cheat
GTA 5's story mode ties wealth to the plot — the heists and Lester's assassinations are designed to be your path to money — so Rockstar left out a money cheat on purpose. In GTA Online, money is server-side and monetized through Shark Cards, so a cheat would never be allowed there either. This has been true since GTA 5 launched in 2013 and hasn't changed.
The real story-mode money method
The most money in GTA 5 story mode comes from Lester's assassination missionspaired with the stock market. Each assassination moves a specific company's stock price, so if you invest heavily right before and sell right after, you can multiply your money dramatically — players routinely turn the late-game assassinations into hundreds of millions across all three characters. See our full Lester stock market guide.
What about GTA Online?
In GTA Online there are no cheats and no money cheat code — only money glitches(unintended bugs) and legit methods. Glitches carry ban risk; see what's currently working right now, or skip the risk with the fastest legit methods.
Don't fall for fake cheats
Any "GTA 5 money cheat code" that asks you to log in, download a file, or complete a survey is a scam. There is no code to enter — the money cheat simply doesn't exist.
